Position Summary:
Position will be scheduled for weekend coverage. Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in a procedural setting. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Acts as a role model and resource to other clinical staff in the area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
*
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
*
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
*
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
*
Current California RN license
*
Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting
*
Current ACLS certification
*
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
*
Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
*
Knowledge and practice of age related acuity levels
*
Demonstrated GI/endoscopy experience
*
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
*
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
*
Current BLS certification
*
PALS certification upon hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*
Previous experience in medical surgical ICU
*
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
*
Understanding of JCAHO requirements
*
Experience in Gastroenterology
*
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
