JOB TITLE: PAINT TECHNICIAN

COMPANY: THE READING TRUCK GROUP

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: READING EQUIPMENT & DISTRIBUTION, LLC - NASHVILLE, TN

POSITION SUMMARY:

Painters work under the direction of the Shop Foreman to perform work in painting, finishing and maintaining interior and exterior structures of specialty truck equipment.

We are a leading manufacturer, distributor and fleet sales expert of premium truck bodies with commercial upfit for vocational markets nationwide. We strive for a pioneering attitude and a focused commitment to innovation in all we do.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sanding manufactured product


  • Scraping surfaces of truck equipment


  • Preparing truck bodies prior to paint application


  • Mixing paint for painting as needed


  • Applying topcoat paint application and undercoat as needed


  • Cleaning spray guns, paint booth and work area


  • Final touch-ups for quality assurance controls


  • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Prior experience with pot gun spray equipment and light sanding on large equipment or vocational vehicles preferred


  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
