Assistant, Broadcast Traffic

Full-Time, Regular

Reports to: Manager, Broadcast Traffic

We're looking to add a Broadcast Traffic Assistant to our Local TV department. In this role, you'll assist with daily broadcast logs, record schedules, manage the media library and coordinate broadcast materials with internal/external stakeholders. In addition, you'll also assist the Programming Department with monthly schedules, grids and external contacts.

In an average week, you can expect to:

- Schedule promotion elements consistent with our broadcast operations policy.

- Ensure accurate and smooth on-air look by frequent communication with station master control and PBS Broadcast Operation Department.

- Assist with program schedules and information entry into our database.

- Monitor and disseminate information from multiple data delivery services.

What success looks like:

- After 60 days, you'll get to know your team and the wider organization. You'll establish key relationships with your peers, and learn the dynamics of your new team. You'll feel confident in your work and the skill you have demonstrated.

- After 120 days, you will be familiar with internal processes, promotional and departmental priorities, and utilization of ProTrack programming software as it best fits our operational needs.

You must have:

- Basic understanding of scheduling (demographics, ratings, etc).

- Excellent organizational and time management skills with careful attention to detail.

- Ability to manage quickly changing priorities and meet daily deadlines.

- High school diploma, or GED; college degree in marketing or related field preferred; two years of progressively responsible work experience (preferably in a broadcast television environment); or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

You should have:

- Public television experience/exposure.

- Familiarity with ProTrack Programming/Broadcast Operations Software preferred.
