The Patient Access Specialist at LifeScape serves as the primary contact for all patients requesting services within our Outpatient Rehabilitation - Rise Custom Solutions, in either of our South Dakota locations - Sioux Falls, or Rapid City. The Patient Access Specialist serves as primary contact for all patients or families requesting outpatient services at LifeScape, these are some additional tasks that can be expected in this role:

• Responds to telephone requests for services and inquiries, and communicates with assigned staff to facilitate requested services
• Obtains necessary paperwork upon patient arrival and assures completion of all necessary forms
• Schedules appointments (evaluations and recurring treatments) for outpatient services, including but not limited to:
  
  
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Speech-language pathology
  • Clinical psychology
  • Orthotics
  • Prosthetics
  • Also modifies appointments for patients/families as requested
  
  
• Performs related duties to include:
  
  
  • Greeting patients and family members
  • Checking in
  • Reviewing schedules
  • Making charts
  • Entering information into the database
  • Maintains or updates information as needed in the EMR
  
  
• Consults with providers, nurses, supervisors, and other appropriate resources to resolve complex patient needs or scheduling issues
• Provides support to billing staff as needed

Job Requirements

A High School diploma/GED is required. Any prior admissions experience is preferred. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or other chronic health conditions also preferred.
