DESCRIPTION
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Facilities contributes to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs and improving productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization and provides a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the children and families we service as well as the performance of the hospital
The Director of Facilities is responsible for the planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery and buildings on the FC campus. The position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plans for space allocation /development in line with strategic business objectives
* Manages and leads change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
* Plans and implements systems that accomplish work objectives and strategic goals efficiently and effectively
* Establishes and maintains relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the departments
* Reviews performance data that includes quality, satisfaction, engagement, and financial reports.
* Develops operating policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility.
* Familiarity and compliance with regulatory and construction codes to include OSHA, Joint Commission, NFPA, Life Safety, Massachusetts State Building, and Department of Public Health as well as LEAN process.
* Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates
* Inspects construction and installation progress
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Qualified individual will have at least seven (7) years of experience at a senior level facilities management in hospital setting.
* Must have extensive exp. of facilities operations, building systems, space planning, design and construction management, project costing and scheduling and fiscal management.
* Proficiency in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC principles are required.
* Experience using up to date project management software and other expense tracking systems.
* Bachelor s degree in Business, Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field required. Master s degree preferred
