An exciting new opportunity for an Acute Care Director of Nursing, has just been made available by a community-owned hospital, located in beautiful Southern Idaho. The DON will have the chance to work with highly respected nurses, physicians and hospital leaders. 

With a wide range of both inpatient and outpatient services, the Acute Care Director of Nursing will be an integral part in leading this medical center in providing the highest quality patient care. With a progressive outlook, the Director of Nursing will help oversee some of this hospital’s most recognized departments, including: Emergency, Cardiac Catheterization, Skilled Nursing Facility, Recovery and Retreat, Day Surgery, Surgical Services, amongst others. 

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Acute Care Director of Nursing will lead a strong team of departmental nurse directors and managers, staff nurses, nurse practitioners in both inpatient and outpatient services. The DON will also be expected to help establish guidelines for each departmental leader, helping set a standard of excellence. 

Leading multiple departments, the Acute Care Director of Nursing will be expected to integrate all departments towards a common goal. The DON will do this by leading by example, having a strong knowledge of multiple areas of healthcare, creating and evaluating performance evaluations. Other areas of expertise for the DON will be analyze and monitor budgetary reports, review state standards and licensures for each FTE, and maintain a high standard of company policy.
