PATIENT SERVICES APPOINTMENT SPECIALIST at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

Answer multi-line phone system.  Schedule and check in patient for appointments.

Scan/Enter patient records and insurance information into electronic medical record.

Accept payment for services.

Support medical personnel in patient care.

Protect the security of medical information and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND


  • 12 months office/clerical experience.

Skills:


  • Friendly, outgoing, professional personality and attitude with strong interpersonal skills

  • Crurent working knowledge of computer and office technology

  • Detail oriented and accurate in work habits

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Ability to handle stress due to high volume

  • Customer Service experience

Certifications:


  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Might lift up to 25 pounds.

Departmental Preferences:


  • 18 months experience in medical clinic/hospital that includes HIPAA & customer service

  • Some college hours

  • Familiarity with campus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
