Job Description:

Instrument Manager

What this job involves:

Providing expert advice on the Control and instrumentation design, develop and install the devices and systems used at site.

Responsible for installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. To make sure that these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently and safely.

Anticipating the needs of our clients and guests
Preparing and agreeing project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers
Producing and implementing designs
Creating test procedures
Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments
Writing reports and documentation
Analyzing and interpreting data
Collaborating with other discipline engineers
Providing technical support.

Works with other technical teams and need a thorough understanding of the operational processes of an organization as your role is multidisciplinary, working closely with colleagues across several functions, including operations, projects and design.

Skilled on the job
Designing and developing new control systems
Testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems
Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports
Managing operations
Working collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff
Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities (e.g. the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority)
Project management within cost and time constrained environments
Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards
Providing advice and consultancy support
Purchasing equipment
Writing computer software and test procedures
Developing new business proposals.
