OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for providing a range of engineering services to the Williamsport plant, along with the providing the leadership of maintenance personnel in the repair, restoration, installation and project management for site buildings, grounds, equipment and machinery. This includes project management from conception through implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume ownership for management of Williamsport building and grounds to ensure that the facility is maintained to provide an attractive and safe workplace for our employees and visitors and to ensure that Alcan's investment is maintained.
Ensure that Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs are in place.
Provide competent and timely engineering support for the correction of process equipment deficiencies, improvements in equipment and processes, installation of new or refurbished equipment, and facilities maintenance and improvements.
Assist maintenance personnel, when needed, in troubleshooting problems with equipment and systems. Encourage employees to solve problems on their own and to utilize all resources available to them (i.e. engineering, drawings, manuals etc.).
Strong human relations skills, to coach, train, motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement within the work team.
Possesses technical skills pertaining to the repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, with a focus on reliability, predictability and TPM.
Solid planning, leadership and administrative skills, along with critical thinking and strong analytical abilities to achieve results and improve key metrics.
The function of the Maintenance/Reliability Engineer is to support the Maintenance department is maintaining, improving and upkeep of existing as well as new equipment
develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components.
Determines material and equipment needed and availability in stores.
Conducts analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability/maintenance approach for a particular situation.
Planning and implementing preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, installation
Schedule and lead preventative and predictive maintenance for all machines and make sure scheduling is executed.
Supervise installation of new machines, check, and inspect them before put in use and keep records after they are in use.
Manage CMMS.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Project Management experience preferred
Technical drawing/CAD experience
Electrical distribution design/power quality knowledge
HVAC/R, Compressed Air System and Fluid transfer systems experience preferred
