Position Overview
As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will provide oversight for Kiewits Kiewit Power Delivery electrical testing, design reviews, and develop RFPs.

Location
This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. You will travel to project sites on an as needed basis. Responsibilities
Perform cold eye review of protection and control drawings, relay settings/logics etc.
Review third party electrical test reports, OEM field test reports
Travel to project site as needed to carry out audit, review energization plan and assist with major energization evolution
Perform function testing of substation relaying and control circuits, transformers, circuit breakers.
Supervise and assist with commissioning, testing of protective relaying equipment, Circuit Breakers, CTs, PTs/CVTs, DFR equipment, SCADA systems, and associated communication equipment.
Read and interpret three-line, one-line diagrams, control schematics/elementary drawings, complex substation protection scheme, and relaying diagrams.
Supervise and assist with end-to-end relay testing of line relaying scheme utilized for current differential and distance protection.
Develop written commissioning and testing standard for component testing, procedure for substation, transformer initial energization.
Effectively interface with engineering, construction, third party testing outfit and customers.
Provide technical support and guidance to project team.
Develop testing plan and due diligence to seamlessly integrate new relaying and controls with existing scheme in brown field projects
Review substation energization plan, switching orders to develop action plan to mitigate nuisance trip and load disruption in brown field projects
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 10+ years related experience in the areas of transmission and distribution substation testing, checkout and relaying/control,
Familiar with SCADA/Automation checkout testing and troubleshooting.
Demonstrate thorough proficiency regarding protective relay, line relaying, Bus Differential, Breaker Failure relaying
Experience with substation communication, SCADA/Automation theory and application, general electrical/electronic theory, computer software skills relating to testing instruments, relays.
Must be familiar with NETA, IEEE Testing standards
Knowledge and familiarity with operating basic and advanced test equipment
Knowledge and familiarity with electromechanical relaying scheme (BDD, CA, HU, KD etc.)
Familiar with SEL, GE, Beckwith and ABB substation relays
Experience is desired with SEL RTAC, GE D20/400, RTU-IED Communications, Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC)
Must be able to demonstrate safe electrical troubleshooting skills
