Job Description:

IBA is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Officer to support our DoD client located at Ft. Detrick, MD. The Senior Project Officer supports customer leadership with the day-to-day coordination of military medical research projects within the US Army’s Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Serve as senior project manager assisting government representative on daily project management activities.

  • Coordinate, facilitate, schedule and prepare meeting agendas, minutes and reports for project planning, project initiation, status reviews and after-action meetings.

  • Maintain project files and electronic documentation based on monitoring activities during the planning, design, commencement, and operational phases of the research project.

  • Review medical research project documents in sufficient detail become familiar with all aspects of the project, particularly those factors that affect a project’s cost and schedule.

  • Manage project schedules and risks to meet firm timelines.

  • Conduct literature review in the current and future military medical domain.

  • Support proposal development and submission to various funding agencies and leadership signatories.

  • Provide direction to junior-level Project Officers; review work products for correctness and adherence to industry standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:​​


  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner.

  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified.

  • Prior military medicine project management experience.

  • Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.

Education, Certifications and Work Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree. Master's degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience required. Experience shall demonstrate the ability to perform functional requirements and include a broad range of assignments performing analytical and/or technical requirements and analysis.

Security Clearance:


  • Existing Level III Public Trust clearance and above or the ability to obtain a Level III Public Trust within the required time frame.
