Summary of Major Responsibilities

We know that providing employees with career development opportunities is a key driver of engagement. The Organizational Development Director will serve as a thought partner to the Senior Director, Organizational Development in building a scalable, global learning function that leverages people insights, long-range business plans, talent strategy, learning trends, and innovation to meet the development needs of the business today and in the future. 

 

In the future, this person may lead a small team of direct reports and indirectly leads cross-functional team members through projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Proactively engage in external research and knowledge sharing to stay current on learning and development trends and best practices.
  • Partner with leadership to understand business needs and ensure learning initiatives address identified needs.

  • Create recommendations on how to optimize and scale learning experiences to meet the development needs of a fast-growing, global organization.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify and support senior and executive leader development opportunities.

  • Build communications plans for organizational development initiatives leveraging our internal communication channels.

  • Deliver people/career/capability insights to the business; identify qualitative and quantitative inputs, establish frequency, audiences, and reporting needs.

  • Manage strategic external vendor relationships to support learners around the world.

  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.

  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability and means to travel between locations (i.e., Madison locations, Redwood City, CA).

  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior/Development/Psychology, or another field relating to learning and development; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience in employee development, leadership development, training, or organizational development activities in lieu of Master’s degree.

  • Demonstrated career progression in terms of increasing responsibility, exposure, and scope.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders in needs assessments, identify themes and trends to build a global training program that increases internal capabilities to deliver business results.

  • Demonstrated ability to evolve training programs based on stakeholder feedback, long-range plans, and overall business strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver recommendations on how to optimize and scale learning experiences to meet the development needs of a fast-growing, global organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to connects the dots, deliver insights, and tell the story of how investing in development impacts business results.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Leadership experience in a high growth, matrixed, and/or multinational organization.

  • Ability to build and deploy a learning strategy that aligns with our organizational philosophy of meeting people where they are in their skills, behaviors, and mindsets.

  • Strong project management and organization skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

  • Strong business acumen; including ability to make sense out of complexity, ability to think strategically, and take appropriate actions.
