Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for the engineering, reliability, maintenance, and future equipment needs for the Rocky Mount, NC manufacturing facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide engineering expertise as it pertains to injection molding machines and controls

- Develop PLC programming and troubleshooting expertise in the maintenance staff.

- Learn and support the control system of the Rocky Mount manufacturing equipment

- Lead future projects to install manufacturing equipment and processes

- Support plant production requirements and minimize downtime of all existing equipment operation.

- Develop and/or support plant projects that improve production via automation and implementation of leading-edge technology to help maintain Hubbell's competitive industry advantage in manufacturing.

- Design/support all plant/facility electrical requirements and usage on an ongoing basis.

- Capital justification and process improvement

Skills and Experience

- Must have a BSEE, BSME. A BSEET is not acceptable because curriculum doesn't cover high voltage electricity theory and practicum.

- Strong equipment experience with PLCs, both troubleshooting and programming. Allen Bradley PLCs, RSLogix, 5, 500, 5000

- Strong robotic experience, programming and troubleshooting. Fanuc and/or ABB

- Strong experience in both sustaining and improving multiple processes

- 5 - 8 years manufacturing experience in a dynamic and \\"hands on\\" environment

- Project management experience from start to finish

- Proficient in computer operations (MS Office, MS Project, CAD, Visio)

- Must be able to stand/walk 10-90% of workday/Occasional bending and squatting & lifting up to 40 lbs required

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

- Access, SQL and Visual Basic experience

- Lean background and experience...Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, 5S, Kan Ban, etc.

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
