This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

We are seeking talented individuals who have the self-motivation and desire to become world-leaders in their field to join our office in Longmont, Colorado.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established engineer with at least 3 years of experience in design and development of highly regulated systems to join a growing international space component supplier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- The Electrical Project Engineer will support the design and development of analog, digital, and power electronics for space battery systems as well as fulfillment of complex requirements documents to demonstrate electrical system compliance to specifications.

- The Electrical Project Engineer will support multi-disciplinary project teams in leading battery electrical system design including selection and analysis of electrical components in accordance to customer requirements.

- The Electrical Project Engineer will lead electrical schematic capture, circuit board layout, and generation of assembly documentation per internal and industry standards.

- Perform and document analyses in technical reports for compliance to customer requirements including Part Stress/Derating, Worst Case Circuit, Reliability, Radiation, and Failure Modes and Effects (FMEA).

- The Electrical Project Engineer will coordinate and validate project testing and analyses plans/reports against customer requirements.

- Communicate directly with technical personnel in customer organizations to provide product data, field technical questions, and support technical reviews.

- Assist in the development of technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

- Participate in investigations, resolutions, and product improvement meetings.

Qualifications

- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.

- Experience with schematic capture programs required. OrCAD preferred.

- Above average Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio skills required.

- Experience reviewing, interpreting, and responding to customer and industry requirements.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work within a close knit team to strict deadlines.

- Space, Aerospace, or other highly regulated industry specific experience preferred.

- Knowledge of, or experience with lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems is highly desired.

- Experience with Space and rad-hard electrical design standards (NASA, IPC, MIL) desired.

- 3 - 6 years of experience in design and development of highly regulated systems.
