Summary/Objective: 
The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for managing activities related to the tax functions including tax provision and compliance as well as working closely with management on the tax risk mitigation and developing tax structuring. The Senior Tax Manager reports directly to the Tax Director. 

Essential Functions: 


  1. Responsible for the preparation and review of domestic and international tax compliance including federal, state/local and foreign tax compliance. 

  2. Responsible for the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual income tax provisions as well as SEC reporting requirements and SOX compliance. This includes coordination and monitoring of foreign tax provisions. 

  3. Manages and documents APB 23 assertions, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances and the consequences of repatriating offshore earnings. 

  4. Manages the execution of the global transfer pricing strategy and ensures compliance with cross-border transfer pricing requirements. 

  5. Works closely with the Tax Director and senior Management to ensure coordination of tax consequences of operations and maintenance of operational structuring, including the identification and analysis of tax risks coming from domestic and international tax operations, compliance and reporting. 

  6. Works with the Tax Director to identify and analyze tax planning opportunities and implement global tax planning strategies to minimize cash and earnings impact of tax expense. 

  7. Coordinates domestic and foreign tax audits including research and documentation of audit issues, preparation of audit assessment appeals and liaising with tax authorities. 

  8. Manages and develops assigned staff through effective and timely supervision, training, performance.

Required Education and Experience: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline 

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, either public or private industry with a U.S. based multinational 

  • Expertise in applying the principles of ASC 740, UTP and SOX 404 

Required Skills and Abilities: 


  • Organized, detail-oriented with the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced team environment 

  • Ability to manage and develop assigned staff through effective and timely supervision, training, performance management, and appraisal 

  • High level of skill with Excel-based tax modeling 

  • Tax Management: Technical tax expertise, Proficiency in financial reporting, Proficiency in technologies for finance and tax, Industry experience 

Preferred Education and Experience: 


  • CPA certification 

  • Master’s degree in Taxation 

  • Big Four or significant multi-national industry experience 

  • Experience in supervisory or leadership roles
