The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will provide medical treatment to patients at Mercy Clinic under physician(s) direction. The incumbent is responsible for meeting all State standards as required. Also will create, maintain and update policies and procedures as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Must adhere to the signed contractual agreement delineating assessment and treatment Protocol between the Medical Director and the Advance Practice Nurse.

Adheres to quality standards in the treatment of all patients.

Must have the ability to plan and carry out medical protocol and work effectively with other disciplines and have considerable knowledge of the advanced nursing principles and practices.

Makes legible medical record documentation and maintains records in neat and orderly fashion. Dictates patient care immediately following treatment of the patient.

Performs scope of practice within the guidelines of "Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.

Maintains confidentiality of patients, employees and clinic at all times. Maintains a timely flow of patients and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.

Collaborates with peers and multidisciplinary agencies to provide comprehensive health services.

Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates patient and family regarding pain management.

Has the ability to maintain and operate basic lab equipment.

Adheres to universal precaution protocol.

Monitors the duties assigned to personnel to insure that they are performed in an efficient manner.

Utilizes resources in a cost-effective manner.

Participates in SEMMC network, community-based projects and committees as appropriate.

Teaches educations and preventative health skills to identified target populations.

Keeps apprised of changing treatment modalities and professional trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with appropriate nursing practitioners credentials.
Licensure: Current License to practice in the State of Arkansas.
Certifications: National Certification and certificate for prescriptive authority are required. ACLS and PALS required.
Preferred Experience:

Five plus years experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner is preferred but not necessary.
