Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:The Blackboard Support Specialist is responsible for providing professional technical support to University of Arkansas Blackboard Learn users. The Blackboard Support Specialist provides second tier support by troubleshooting problems faculty, staff, and students may experience while using learning technology. This position provides second tier support for Blackboard Learn and associated tools such as Echo360, Kaltura, Respondus Lockdown Browser, and Blackboard Collaborate. The Blackboard Support Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Instructional Design and Support Services and works collaboratively and cooperatively as part of the learning technology support team.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
OR
- Completion of technical training in computer science, information technology, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting
- At least two years of experience in computer support

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing technical and procedural support to a diverse clientele with various experience levels

Experience in supporting faculty and/or students in a higher education setting

Experience in a customer service position

Excellent written communication skills as evidenced by application materials

Knowledge of a learning management system or other learning technologies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of learning management systems, web-conferencing, lecture capture, streaming video, and other technologies that support instruction
