NURSE MANAGER NICU AND PEDIATRICS

Under the direction of the Director of Family Birth Place, the Nursing Manager is responsible for assisting the director in planning, administering, and evaluating the operations of NICU/Peds units. Shares accountability for the standards and scope of nursing practice. The individual manages the flow of patients and information to expedite care, collaborating with the physicians.

Demonstrates clinical competency and nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. Contributes to the Ogden Regional Department of Nursing and the nursing profession in a positive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

* Current Utah RN license in good standing (Compact RN - When a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving from one compact state to another, the nurse can practice in the new state on the former license for up to 90 days. The 90 days starts when the nurse becomes a resident in the new state)

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

* FEMA/NIMS certification within 90 days of hire

EDUCATION:

* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN required, or plan to complete BSN within 3 years.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 years in a nursing supervisory position (including Clinical Supervisor role) with minimum 3 years clinical experience in an acute care nursing setting.
