Job Description

The Consumer and Marketing Technologies Department is the IT Engine that delivers robust solutions to Kimberly-Clark’s marketing teams by working with the appropriate internal and external resources including vendor partners. Our goal is to deliver innovative, efficient and cost-effective solutions to meet business needs thereby driving business growth and profitability while adhering to the global platform vision. This critical role will have direct accountability for the engineering and delivery of the digital shelf platform that has Product Information Management (PIM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) capabilities.

The IT Manager for Digital Shelf is a technology leader who will be responsible for delivering the platforms for PIM and DAM that seamlessly integrate with other marketing platforms in line with the global digital platform vision. He/she has the key responsibility for the technical stack built around STIBO and Media beacon with integrations using Mulesoft and Azure Event Hub. He/she is responsible for building a platform with minimum customization while offering the right level of flexibility through configuration. In this regard, this leader will drive cross-functional collaboration across K-C stakeholders (Brand, Security, Infrastructure, etc.) to deliver timely and high-quality digital solutions. The leader is expected to advance the agile, engineering and devOps maturity.

In addition to implementing digital projects, this individual is responsible for establishing day-to-day operational support for the systems that are part of the global platform and take care of change, incident, problem and configuration management.

The right person for this role is proactive with stakeholders, a self-starter who can work under broad direction, and passionate about delivering world-class digital products that enable the business to optimize operations to maximize the value of K-C investments.

Scope/Categories:


  • Internal Interfaces: Marketing Leadership, Regional / Global Digital Marketers, Brand Managers, Marketing Directors, Product Managers, Business Partners and Other technology teams (infrastructure, Security).

  • External Interfaces: Consultants, Partners, 3rd Party Integration Providers.

  • Travel may include approximately 15% of work time.

Key Accountabilities: 


  • Responsible for engineering of digital shelf platform that primarily has PIM (STIBO) and DAM (Mediabeacon). He/she is also responsible for its subsequent rollout to different markets.

  • Ensure the engineering team complies with K-C software development standards including security standards. Advance devOps practices and promote good engineering culture thereby improving the engineering and agile maturity.

  • Engage with delivery partners, negotiate proposals and facilitate delivery of high-quality solutions in alignment with the global platform vision.

  • Understand and influence the global digital platform vision by representing the regional business needs. Strive to build solutions that can be globally leveraged across markets and regions.

  • Enable staff with the needed functional and technical skills required to meet K-C’s growing application portfolio and changing technology needs. Help develop leaders through real time coaching and mentoring, driving with K-C’s global leader mindset.

  • Ensure insight and understanding of “best practices” and keeping pace with competition and peer companies.

Required Qualifications and Experiences:


  • B.S., B. A. degree. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

  • 7-10 years of experience in implementing product information management systems or digital asset management systems.

  • Experience in in STEP (STIBO) and/or Mediabeacon is preferred.

  • Digital marketing and CPG domain experience is preferred.

  • Good exposure to product information management best practices, processes, standards like GTIN and industry-standard taxonomies is desirable. Knowledge of digital asset management processes and best practices is a plus.

  • Experience leading IT projects and/or programs adopting Agile/Waterfall methodologies. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering management experience, building and grooming top-notch engineering talent and implementing good SDLC/devOps practices including CI/CD, TDD etc. Ability to lead senior architects and engineers is required. Strong programming skills in a major programming language like Java or Javascript is a plus.

  • Good understanding of integration patterns, event-driven architectures, relational databases and cloud platforms will help.

  • Good understanding data privacy and data protection regulations like GDPR, CCPA is desired. Experience implementing solutions adhering to PCI regulations is an advantage.

  • Experience managing delivery partners and systems integrators in enterprise software delivery is a must.

  • Portfolio and project management experience will be an advantage

  • Strong facilitation skills required. Must display vision and resiliency

  • Ability to work in a virtual team across cultures, time zones and external parties including customers.

  • Demonstrated experience in absorbing complex digital information and communicating effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences.
