We have an immediate opening for a Vice President, Marketing based in our headquarters in Northfield, IL. The VP is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction for the company's marketing efforts for the Acute Care market. The VP leads a team of marketing professionals focused on enabling the sales force via sales tools and support grounded in market insight and strategic direction. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid education and background in developing strategy, implementing marketing programs and a desire to work for a fast-paced, large corporate organization. The challenging responsibilities of the position:
Along with Sales leadership, define and develop the short- and long-term strategic marketing plans of the assigned sales forces designed to deliver financial goals.
Develop a strategic and tactical marketing plan, which uses the depth and breadth of Medline's product portfolio, clinical expertise and distribution capabilities to grow and retain prime vendor accounts.
Explore new market growth opportunities and recommend new product/service ideas or product improvements based on marketing research, competitive insight, and Field Sales feedback.
Define message strategy and integrated communications plans for the acute care business portfolio. Link multiple portfolio messages to corporate messaging and ensure consistency and positioning across strategic and tactical elements of the marketing plan.
Work with Medline field sales and IDN teams to effectively deliver clarity to customers on the full breadth of value Medline offers.
Frame and lead external partnerships - lead and cultivate KOLs, user groups and other acute care thought leadership forums. Develop strong strategic relationships with key customers and industry associations.
Work with clinical leadership on the development of clinically focused programs and solutions that help enable the success of our customers and drive sales of supporting products.
Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation.
Assess promotional options, develop budget and future impact of promotional decisions (ROI) and allocate resources appropriately for maximum impact.
Oversee management of a sales incentive program that effectively leverages the strength of the sales force to meet or exceed sales and profit expectations and drives the strategic vision.
Support Sales leadership in the communication strategy and plans at sales meetings both national and regional.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred
At least 10 years of marketing experience
At least 5 years of marketing management experience
Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget
Experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
Marketing experience in the healthcare or a related industry preferred
