Department Overview
Power Generation maintains and operates PG&E's hydroelectric facilities providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. We are an organization of nearly 700 men and women dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner.
Position Summary
The Sr. Director, Hydro Operations & Maintenance is responsible for maintaining and operating PG&E-owned hydroelectric facilities that provide approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for PG&E customers. The Hydro Operations and Maintenance organization maintains 67 powerhouses with 107 generating units, 98 reservoirs, 170 dams and over 400 miles of canals, tunnels, penstocks, flumes and natural waterways. The hydroelectric organization maintains three large hydro generating stations and five sites.
Job Responsibilities
Develops regulatory strategies to address and resolve issues.
Develops and implements strategies to lead Power Generation's hydroelectric organization to industry-leading performance.
Plans and develops case strategy with key internal or external stakeholders.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with business units and external agencies.
Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.
Provides strategic direction for multiple departments and/or cross functional teams and program initiatives.
