Database Engineering team is seeking a technologist with expert level automation skills to help deliver on enterprise database services vision of a "fully automated tired database service that is consumable by both IT and business resources that delivers end user transparency across on Premise, Private and Public Cloud deployments".

Now on to the good stuff... what you'll do:

Provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Automation Engineering assignments/projects. Provides expertise in the engineering, design, installation and start-up of automated systems. Designs automated systems with moderate complexity and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff on all phases of engineering, design, installation, and start-up. Works closely with client and IT management and staff to identify automated solutions, new or modified systems, reuse of existing machinery/equipment, or integration of purchased solutions or a combination of the available alternatives. Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends the most efficient and cost effective automated solutions. Documents, tests, implements and provides on-going support for systems. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Automation Engineering but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

• Develops the most complex database system automation for the organization.
  
  


• Collaborate with Stakeholders, Tech lead and Team members to discuss the requirements and implement in an efficient way.
  
  


• Analyzes, designs, creates and implements complex solutions including automated installation, configuration, maintenance and operation of all infrastructure services in a way that supports speed, agility, security and resiliency.
  
  


• Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
  
  


• Automate configuration management and deployments using Ansible playbooks and YAML for resource declaration, creating roles and updating Playbooks to provision Infrastructure.
  
  


• Use Ansible Tower for scheduling playbooks and used GIT repository to maintain and store the playbooks.
  
  


• Build, maintain and monitor configuration standards.
  
  


• Document and design various Infrastructure automation processes; update existing automation processes.
  
  


• Configuring metrics and alerts for monitoring and develop ways to improve.
  
  


• Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Automation solutions.
  
  

What you need to do the job:

• Must be a current contractor with Cigna or Express Scripts
  
  


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience highly preferred.
  
  


• Hands on experience with Automation tools and technologies like Ansible, Ansible Tower, GitHub, Application program Interfaces etc.
  
  


• Hands on experience in Linux/Unix, Openshift platforms.
  
  


• Experience with atleast one or more of database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, PostgreSQL.
  
  


• Strong detailed analytical skills
  
  


• Ability to stay very organized while managing multiple tasks and activities
  
  


• Takes initiative and is a self-starter
  
  


• Dealing with ambiguity and problem solving
  
  


• Senior and Executive leadership presence required
