Position Summary:

Reporting to the Distribution Channel Manager, this position is a lead role within the Distribution Channel team responsible to manage large national distribution accounts as well as independent distribution accounts with a focus on growth. Working directly with customer contacts and the Key Account Manager, provide daily support including: reconcile & organize monthly and annual rebates, high touch customer support, provide multi line quotes within deadlines, administer distributor agreements, industry programs, co-op marketing funds, and annual independent distributor reclassification as well as other distribution related tasks as assigned. Provides technical guidance to develop marketing communication and sales strategy for assigned segment to drive products into the market. Implements the marketing strategies and compiles metrics for management review identifying opportunities for improvement. Conducts pricing analyses to help develop pricing strategies and price special request products. May provide quotes for customer sales.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Utilize 80/20 methodologies to identify, execute and document departmental process improvements, increase profitability & efficiency within the General Industry Distribution channel.

  • Help drive General Industry Distribution strategic initiatives by supporting price management margin improvement, E-commerce channel development, and SKU rationalization with our customers.

  • Determine products required for Distribution accounts to support end user business. This will be a unified effort with the sales representatives, our distributors and the plant personnel at the end users accounts that we are targeting. Determine annual purchase volume per item, competitive or target price points and who is the competition we are attempting to replace. Review results with the Distribution Channel Manager and determine if we should proceed with the proposal.

  • Support independent distributor program execution, ensuring distributors are classified correctly, monitor and execute annual reclassification review.


  • Support communication related to distribution programs, promotions as well as web updates.

  • Provide support for co-op marketing activities. Track & communicate available co-op funds by customer.

  • Reconcile rebate reports & issue credits monthly, following up with Key Account Managers to ensure credits are issued within 30 days of month close.

  • Monitor rebate approval process to ensure proper approvals are received within established timeline.

  • Support & manage commission reporting (Review COGS data by national account, verify & break out by territory, send sales total by territory to sales ops team to pay commissions monthly).

  • Participate in the implementation and contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvements to the distribution process in a group setting.

  • Drive communication across businesses and disciplines as needed to deliver assigned tasks with desired results & within established timelines

  • Excellent time management skills will be critical while interfacing at various levels in the organization. Other duties as directed by supervisor. This position will support new and existing account growth in Distribution as well as driving end user business through these channels to the market.

  • Accel in multi-tasking, balancing multiple requests at one time in a fast-paced environment, addressing changing priorities as business needs require .

  • Become systems expert in: Oracle (Customer master and business intelligence-BI), as well as Excel to build complex reports as needed to monitor sales trends and support reporting as directed by the Distribution Channel Manager.

  • Support PIM and PPIF updates to ensure product and pricing information is current and complete and able to be uploaded to customer ERP systems supporting growth and providing a seamless customer experience.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related Technical field and 3-5 years related work experience


  • Ability to become Green Belt Certified within 1 Year.


  • Leadership skills; can do attitude, minimal supervision


  • Prior customer service experience handling all aspects of order entry and customer relationship management desired.


  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
