MPLOY Program Specialist at CITY OF MEMPHIS

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the general supervision of an assigned manager in the planning and execution of a seamless delivery system throughout the entirety of the program. Works in collaboration with senior MPLOY Program Analyst in monitoring assigned staff and their work delivery. Recommends creative solutions for challenges to the leadership team and other interested parties. Recruits and networks with interested parties to augment working relationships on behalf of the Memphis Office of Youth Services. Assists with managing and coordinating MPLOY’s presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram and other community sites to engage target audiences. Implements, executes, and monitors virtual on-line platforms and licenses for professional training and the summer program. Assists with planning and successful execution of all program events, particularly the Classic College and Career Fair and youth-lead Teen Summit. Creates and prepares a variety of correspondence, memos, and reports. Performs as a team ready with the ability to perform in the best interest of the program and its participants. Works effectively with all four (4) MPLOY groups.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Serves as a liaison to the community to promote and educate the public about the program, at various community-based events and public forums, as needed.
2. Assists the Youth Services Event Coordinator as needed.
3. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.


TYPLICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Requires the use of office equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, and telephones. Work involves occasional independent travel to various City sites and some out-of-town locations.


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed primarily in an office/training site environment. Occasionally travels to outlying satellite facilities, working evenings and weekends, attend conferences, youth forums, and training.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, education, communications, or a related field and two (2) years of professional experience performing human services, or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must have working experience utilizing standard office software including spreadsheets. Two (2) years of experience in a youth related environment preferred. Specific experience within job training and knowledge of youth development and training strongly preferred.
