* Assures business process improvement has balanced focus on employees, customers, stakeholders

* Works with Sr. team to assure linkage of business process improvements to P&L, cash flow and balance sheet.

* Leads and mentors others in development of lean manufacturing as a means for profitable growth

* Works with SI&OP staff to assure level schedules and creates standard work for demand change.

* Develops others to implement standard work including takt, standard work combo sheets, balanced work, SWIP

* Deploys leader standard work, visual controls, daily tiered accountability to assure teams adhere to standard work

* Coach employees to see abnormal conditions and solve problems systematically

* Develop others in kaizen to bring work cells back to standard, or improve work cell performance.

* Develops training and coaches others to reduce variation using DMAIC systematic problem solving process

* Assures alignment across the BU using strategy deployment, value stream mapping, site SIPOC

* Responsible for identifying Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis, and standardization in order to improve business process maturity.

* The efforts of the Lead and the CI function will be to achieve cost reductions, working capital improvements, cycle time reductions and quality improvements, influencing company growth by increasing market opportunities, and ensuring capabilities and performance meet or exceed industry and customer requirements. This will be accomplished by active performance management and analysis of established Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for all business functions.

* Direct the efforts of, or personally lead, Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), Kaizen events and or A3 projects through a disciplined process resulting in improvement to performance metrics.

* Performance Management process, translating strategic goals into individual measurable goals. These goals will need to be coordinated cross-locations, leveraging best practices and lessons learned.

* Managing capital assets: Insuring that capital supports required capacity, Build, direct and retain a team responsible for the assuring the quality, manufacturability of components and subsystems for the Defense market

* Managing financial assets: Develop budget, Establish controls to insure budget compliance, Support new product bid and proposal efforts for the sites

Basic:

* Bachelor's Degree in business or a technical field

* 6+ years of experience with LEAN, Six Sigma and expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies as described under the responsibilities

* 6+ years of people leadership experience

* 5+ years of experience leading and managing continuous improvement teams in an operational environment, to include leading business transformation

Preferred:

* Lean master, lean practitioner, master black belt Certification

* Hands on experience with demonstrated results implementing the basics of a lean operating systems. Experience includes JIT, takt, flow, pull, standard work, Jidoka, DMAIC, policy deployment, TPM, 5s, heijunka, kaizen, pacemaker, pitch, replenishment system, SWIP, value stream mapping, visual management

* Ability to produce evidence of successful results from prior CI work experience

* Problem complexity: Contributes to strategy deployment and precedent setting ideas and solutions. Proactively identifies and resolves problems that often impact multiple work cells across value streams and functional departments.

* Organizational impact: Errors in judgment on Lean implementation can impact critical goals of the entire business. Contributes expertise to large, company-wide or multi-functional projects of strategic importance to the business as a whole.

* Personal autonomy: Establishes cell design, inventory policy and standard cell standard work for others to follow as non-negotiables. Then operates within the business area or value stream in a consultation rather than directive-based approach.

* People Management: Lead and develop direct reports, and provide input to people management leaders on their team's strengths and areas for improvement and develop their personal development objectives in lean cells.

* Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions from group of clients, customers, the general public and management at all levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities

* Computer skills: high-level of spreadsheet utilization skills; exposure to a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft office suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, Fastlook and Anzio; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as Oracle.

* Time Management & Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task within tight time constraints; Adaptable in a fast paced manufacturing environment with proven ability to support organizational effectiveness that is rapid changing

* Experience necessary in leading CI in both administrative and manufacturing environments

* Fluency in CI methodologies, especially strong practical Lean deployment experience

* Active DoD Secret level Clearance
