Summary:
The Financial Analyst II Decision Support is responsible for advanced reporting and complex financial and strategic analysis for departments throughout the organization. This position may lead, develop and maintain multiple functions of the organizations decision support systems under the direction of Financial Services. This position exercises good judgement and decision making while able to act independently with leadership as a financial liaison or project lead. The position will also provide a substantial role in the development of the organizations operating budgets and improving department profitability. The Financial Analyst II Decision Support position demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to organization success targets for net operating margin.
Models Covenant s Mission, Vision and WE CARE Values of Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Has social contact with patients, primarily adult, and is able to appropriately assess, care for and treat them according to the guidelines as defined by Covenant HealthCare.
Demonstrates excellent customer service.
Contributes to organization success targets for patient satisfaction and net operating margin.
Individual positions may include some or all of the specific duties listed below.
Acts as a Financial Services liaison to give financial support to VP s, Director s and Manager s including assistance with proforma s special projects and analysis.
Prepares financial proformas for new and existing services.
Assist Financial Services staff on special projects and assignments as needed.
Assist Financial Services staff on monthly financial statement review and close procedures.
Develops timely and accurate standard or ad hoc reports required by the hospital management team.
Develops and maintains the cost accounting and decision support system to include standards, allocations, files, reports, training and education.
Uses the decision support system to assist in the preparation of the annual operating budgets for the organization, by specific department.
Provides direct supervision of the decision support users within the Financial Services department.
Prepares and analyzes product line analysis, profitability analysis, physician analysis, and reimbursement reporting using the Eclipsys decision support system.
Prepares Financial Statements and miscellaneous physician reports for Covenant MSO including dashboard reporting, Group Practice Financial Statement breakdown and Interim Incentive calculations.
Prepares and oversees monthly journal entries for physician practices
Reviews physician practice revenue cycle.
Develops and maintains external benchmarking software standards, reporting and education.
Develops and maintains internal productivity software standards, reporting and education.
Special project analysis as needed.
Other Duties as assigned
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational and professional programs, literature, meetings and training.

Other information:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA or Master s Degree preferred.
Minimum of five years healthcare finance experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
Knowledge of Crystal Reports.
Understanding of the hospital Revenue Cycle.
Knowledge of Lawson S3 Financial Software
Knowledge of Cost Accounting systems and concepts
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.
Project a positive and energetic image.
Ability to work in teams.
Ability to work independently.
