Job Description Summary

The Los Angeles Times is looking for part-time, temporary employees to assist with the preparation of journalism contest entries.

These employees will work with the awards coordinator to re-create published Times articles, photos and graphics as individual PDFs per the contests’ rules.

Job Description

The work can be done remotely. This temporary role runs from late October until mid-March, with hours ranging from five to 20 hours a week. The workload varies depending on contest deadlines, most of which fall in January and February. Applicants at minimum should be in college or a recent graduate.  

Strong working knowledge of InDesign is essential, and experience designing for print is preferred. Applicants should be self-starters who work well with a structured workflow and template. Advanced communications skills and the proven ability to meet recurring deadlines are required.
