POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position coordinates the nursing activities between multiple service areas of a department. In the absence of the Director may assume twenty four (24) hour nursing responsibility for the department. May work with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required:

* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

* Four (4) years of experience in nursing, with minimum of two (2) years in area of specialty.

* Demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinate diversified and multiple activities, and make appropriate clinical and managerial decisions. Must possess advanced problem solving skills.

* Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.

* Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Preferred:

* National certification in specialty.

* Previous management/charge nurse experience.

* B.S. degree in Nursing.

WORK HOURS: 8a-4:30p

WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS: No

ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS: No.
