Days - Full-Time

The Mobile Phlebotomist drives from location to location during the shift when necessary. The person in this position must be able to plan and ensure arriving at the predetermined location at a pre-set time for blood collection on Executive Health Program clients and other patients. Most blood draws will be early morning for fasting labs, but potential exists for blood draws at different times throughout the day. This position will perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages in a safe, accurate and professional manner. The Mobile Phlebotomist uses personal vehicle, displayed with a magnetic University of Kansas Health System sign, to travel to Health System locations, and/or a patient's home or workplace to draw blood.

Required:

* High School diploma or equivalent

* Graduate from accredited phlebotomy training program

* Minimum one year specimen collection and processing

* Valid driver's license and clean driving record required and must be able to maintain alertness while driving long distances

* Knowledge of medical terminology related to blood collection

* Knowledge of safety practices

* Strong attention to detail

* Demonstrated skill with laboratory information systems

Preferred:

* Phlebotomist ASCP or AMT certification

* Ideally, One year of phlebotomist experience at KUH.
