Senior Cost Accountant

This role will have the primary purpose of leading all accounting activities for the inventory cycle, including accounting, analysis, standard costing, valuation, record keeping and internal controls activities. The role will be fundamental on developing financial analysis on inventory and key understanding of variances.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partnering with the Group Controller and Finance Team on the development for policies and procedures related to Inventory Accounting
- Value Stream Mapping current state and develop future state proposal for policies and procedures
- Develop and document key narratives on Inventory
- Partnering with Group Financial Analysts, developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances
- Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
- Verifying accurate standard costs
- Monitoring inventory transactions
- Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger
- Preparing monthly journal entries as needed
- Special projects as required
- Assist in preparation of the annual operation budget
- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Maintaining Cost Accounting System
- Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger
- Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program

Work Experience Requirements:
- 5 to 8 years of applicable work experience
- Experience in a matrix organization type of environment
- Knowledge of cost accounting, standard cost and lean manufacturing processes and systems
- Experience with Month/Year End Accounting Cycles
- Demonstrated advancing skills in Excel, Access, etc.
- Experience in planning software & database management
- Exposure to ERP systems, i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting / Business / Financial or related field required.
- Advanced degree &/or a C.P.A. will be a plus
