Job Description
Ryan Companies US, Inc. has several exciting opportunities for Construction Project Engineer interns starting Summer of 2021 in Cedar Rapids!

Upon completion of the assignment, you will likely return to school to complete their degree and/or may apply for a permanent position within Ryan's many different office locations in the future!
Some things you can expect to do:
- Assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.
- Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
- Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
To be successful in this role, you must be:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- Within 18 months of graduating with a four-year degree in Construction Engineering/Management or closely-related field.
- Able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.
**In order to fully learn this role and understand what it means to work for Ryan, eight months is the ideal length of time for this type of role.
You will really stand out if you:
- Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
- Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
- Communicate clearly orally and in writing.
