Scope of Work:

Process payroll including the transmittal of bank ACH/Positive pay files, child support, Credit Union, 401k, etc. Process all employee changes including rate changes, transfers, voluntary & involuntary deductions & terminations. Perform a wide variety of record keeping and reporting. Prepare payroll bank reconciliation reports for general accounting. Reconcile and remit insurance policy premiums. Assist with employee and management inquiries. Back-up/assist Payroll manager with tasks & special projects including but not limited to commissions, accruals, journal entries, tax deposits/returns, audits & G/L reconciliations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing

- Responsible for various file transmissions

- Responsible for accuracy of payroll data

- Responsible for processing employee changes

- Responsible for payroll record keeping & archiving

- Responsible for reconciling & remitting insurance premiums

- Work closely with payroll manager

- Interface with HR and other departments

- Prepare/assist with special reports or projects

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma

- Six (6) hours college accounting preferred

- Must have a minimum of 5 year's previous experience

- Three (3) year's multi-state payroll experience

- In-house payroll required

- UltiPro Payroll Software experience a plus

- Fundamental Payroll Certification a plus

- Certified Payroll Professional a plus

- JD Edwards Software experience a plus

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

- Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives

- Must meet performance standards, goals and objectives set by the company and the payroll dept.

- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)

- Excel experience required—intermediate/advanced

- Must be dependable and able to work independently

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Weekend hours as necessary

- Office indoor work
