Your day
As an OR Assistant you need to know how to: Answer telephones, respond to routine inquiries according to established policies, relay and/or record messages Schedule surgery cases by checking availability of suites, physicians, and staff, entering information into the computer system, and providing information to callers
Distribute surgery schedule to hospital departments Communicate various information to surgical staff and physicians Transport bed to nursing units, greet patients/families, verify patient identity for surgery and transport same to and from operating room Transport specimens and cultures to laboratory Perform miscellaneous errands such as stocking supplies, delivering test results, picking up supplies, and the like Your experience

But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: High School diploma or equivalent, required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred Your next move
