Job Description:

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform accounting clerical tasks in addition to other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be under limited supervision and must be able to support various division staff in multiple geographical locations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

* Maintain purchasing cards for project managers and input transaction detail into reporting system at the end of each billing cycle

* Process expense reports and A/P vouchers

* Maintain vendor files and communicate with vendors, as needed, to update information

* Review purchasing requests, assist with documentation per purchasing policy, ensure coding is accurate; obtain approvals and execute orders

* Coordinate travel requirements to include local and continental United States

Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Required Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Three or more years of related work experience

* Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications

* US citizen with the ability to obtain (minimum) Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
