The candidate will assist with applied field research in agricultural cropping systems in eastern Arkansas. Duties to include, but not limited to: establishment and maintenance of edge-of-field water quality field research sites in commercial agricultural fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for year-round crop, soil, and hydrological field work that will include collection of water samples following precipitation and irrigation events. Job duties will include plant and soil monitoring, and maintenance of field research equipment. The individual will facilitate communications among researchers, students, and collaborators including cooperating producers and their employees to accomplish project objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the program and contribute effectively to program design, results dissemination
and/or Division mission activities. Data management responsibilities will include data collection and management, as well as statistical and geospatial analysis. The individual will prepare technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and present results at field days and scientific meetings.
This is a temporary position with a three-year appointment ending September 2023.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a B.S. with a concentration in agronomy, agricultural engineering, environmental sciences, or closely related field required with three years of relevant professional experience, OR a Master's degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduate training in agronomy, environmental sciences, and statistics with field research experience is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with an interest and experience in agricultural sustainability research and undergraduate/graduate courses in plant, soil and water science, statistics, and GISAdditional Information:
