We are looking for a Machine Operator who will grow at our Operations Facility in Pacific Junction, IA\n\nTypical work may include but is not limited to:\n\nThe Machine Operator will be working at one of Scotts production plants mechanically combining raw materials to produce our finished product.\nThe Operator must understand the mixing of active solution vessels, premixes & all raw material bases for products produced.\nOperate a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients that are processed in a mix room.\nSolve daily operations problems with limited supervision.\nActively maintain good housekeeping standards in their assigned area\nComplete daily job checklists & equipment checks/calibrations to maintain quality.\nMaintain accurate records of raw materials, samples & equipment operations.\nOperate a forklift to transport materials\nPerform safety audits on equipment\nAll other duties as assigned\nSet up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order\nPerform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the production procedures\nMaintain and clean machines before and after each shift\nFeed information akin to speed, shapes and sizes through the machine set up box\nPlace parts in semi-automated machines\nCalibrate machines at the beginning of each shift\nRecalibrate machines at the end of each shift\nMonitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running\nTroubleshoot problems during machine operation\nEnsure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out\nPerform random tests to ensure accuracy\nPerform safety checks on every machine\nEnsure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output\nEnsure stocks of needed materials are ready and available at all times\nMaintain activity logs/downtime sheets\nThe perfect person will have:\n\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nA minimum of one plus years of production plant experience is preferred.\nAble to identify all materials used, detail oriented, follow safe practices and procedures, ability to read English and or follow directions\nAble to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire day.\nWillingness to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidays. \nWhat we do for our associates (just to list a few cool ones):\n\nOffer extremely competitive benefits including: Health, Dental and Vision coverage with wellness incentive program.\nUnbelievable 401K match and discounted stock purchase program.\nOur commitment to diversity and inclusion includes four employee resource groups: Scotts Women's Network, Scotts Black Employee Network, Scotts Veterans Network and Scotts Young Professionals.\nGenerous vacation policy!
