Duties to include Transportation of heavy equipment to job sites for our Ulster Paving Company division. Delivering Asphalt and Stone to various location. Also responsible for operating a variety of asphalt and construction equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The criteria for evaluation in this position include but are not limited to the following:
Operate equipment safely and efficiently by following proper loading and unload procedures.
Operate various pieces of equipment.
Deliver Asphalt and Stone to various locations
Also be able to do physical labor such as shovel, rake, flag, etc
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction and paving
Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor
Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
The other requirements for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Pre-employment physical exam, pre- employment controlled substance testing and criminal background check before being employed by Dolomite Products Company and/or Callanan Industries, Inc.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times
Report to work at the designated start time - Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
Be able to work overtime when required
Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Safety Manual
Personal Protective Equipment
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OHSA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required includes hearing protection, reflective vest, safety (leather steel toe) shoes, hart hat and eye protection.

Knowledge in operating heavy construction equipment
Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
OSHA 10 hour certification is required
Have a current CDL A license
Education and/or Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lowboy/Operator/Laborer
Class A CDL
Communication and Language Skills
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to comprehend and communicate to others the requirements of the technical specification, regulations, reports and manuals.
Walking several miles per day, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and traveling over irregular terrain. Some tasks involve: prolonged periods of standing and/or exposure to noise or weather, good motor coordination, finger dexterity, and color discrimination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Capable of lifting heavy objects and equipment. All essential duties must be performed without posing a direct threat to their own, or others, health and safety, with or without the use of a reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud and may require protective equipment.
