As a Construction Superintendent, you will assist in the production of various new and reconstruction projects for the company. The Superintendent shall be responsible for overall onsite management of a project from inception to final acceptance, including all onsite planning, organization, and control of the work in the field to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the project. Ensuring safety, security, quality and timeliness will all be important responsibilities of this position, working in tandem with Quality Control and Project Management personnel.
You will report directly to the General Superintendent and assist with project requirements and other functions of the construction team. Must be able to read prints and convey to the crew what needs to be accomplished on each project as well as be able to speak with clients, engineers and Tilcon sales representatives. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Supervisory requirements used in support of construction, milling and paving requirements
Be able to read and interpret blue prints and survey information
Be able to set and maintain grades
Clearly distribute to and control various crews sizes
Maintain an electronic time and payroll file
Participates in special projects or tasks as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions
10 or more years of construction supervisory experience
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Effective communication skills, including presentation skills and people skills
Ability to think creatively to find solutions to both routine and complex construction problems and continue to push the project forward.
Experience with State DOT and Municipal contracts is highly desired
Excellent written and verbal skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to diplomatically handle challenging situations.
