The primary function of the Equipment Operator is to perform various duties as assigned but not limited to operating excavator, front end loaders, skid steer, dozer, etc. along with recycle crusher and maintenance activities. This is a seasonal, hourly position with occasional overtime as needed, and will require equipment and plant operating, along with labor time. Potential travel, although minimal, may be required for short periods of time throughout the Willamette Valley to perform the job duties at various plant locations.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Operate equipment in a safe manner to support daily crusher activities which includes but not limited to front end loader, skid steer, dozer, excavator, etc.
Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
Participate in crusher setup and teardown along with maintenance activities as needed.
Participate in creating a safe work environment, achieve safety goals, implement company safety programs and comply with MSHA standards. Report all near misses or accidents to the crusher foreman.
Keep time and material records.
Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
Other duties as assigned by crusher foreman and/or production superintendent.
Reflect a professional appearance and attitude with all work related activities.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with all customers and employees.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous crusher and equipment operation preferred.
Crusher component knowledge, mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and "Fit for Work" physical.
Willing to travel and work from other Company locations throughout the Willamette Valley.
Be able to work overtime when required.
Regular, on time attendance is an essential function of this position.
Willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Willingness to work extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. Physical abilities test will be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
