We are looking for a Dotnet Software Engineer to join Thales in Austin, TX. As a Dotnet Software Engineer for the Identity and Biometric Solutions team, you will be part of the team delivering tailor made solutions to state and local government agencies to issue official documents (Driver’s License, ID cards) and provide background check services for anyone needing a job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the project team working on innovative solutions for state and local government agencies

  • Design, develop, and improve .NET services and applications

  • Participate in all the phases of the development process (analyze, specifications, development, unit testing)

  • Follow the Development Life Cycle process in place

  • Work closely with the technical leader to design and implement the features, and with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to provide support during QA phases

  • Deliver high quality code within specified deadlines

  • Report progress against deadlines as requested by management

  • Interact with our customers during project implementation when needed

  • Participate in conforming to company standards and actively improving them

  • Participate in Level 3 support for our deployed solutions

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in C# and the following: ASP.NET WebAPI, RESTful Web Services, SQL Server

  • Strong written and verbal communicator

  • Proven team development experience and a willingness to adapt to new technologies

  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time domestically during the specification and integration phases and for workshops

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Angular is a bonus

  • Optional experience with WPF/WCF, Integration with 3rd party SDK (devices)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

  • Strong analytical mind and problem solving skills, able and willing to learn

Special Position Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship accepted) per CFIUS requirements

  • This position is subject to standard pre-employment background check, fingerprinting and drug screen

  • This position is subject to post-hire third party background checks with the Department of Justice, the FBI and other state government agencies

  • This position is subject to annual employment background check screening
