Job Description: Job Summary: Join our Applied Power Division as an Associate Technician. Provide support to scientific and engineering and technical support staff. Clean equipment, materials, and components of tests following defined procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Work closely and assist skilled staff in performing work. Move materials and equipment as required for work operations. Operate simple computer programs using basic computer skills. Handle, prepare, and process test samples. Pick-up and deliver materials or run errands as directed. Conduct routine tests following written or verbal instructions. Maintain inventory levels for equipment and supplies. Provide work documentation and maintain accurate records.
Education/Experience: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 0-1 year of mechanical technician or related experience. The desire and ability to learn and perform work in a technical occupation or trade is required. Must have general knowledge of basic tools, equipment, and materials used in a mechanical or related occupation/trade. Knowledge of safety, storage, cleaning, or proper lifting procedures is required. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and operate a personal computer. Must have the ability to work closely with others, effectively in a group, or alone when necessary. Some tasks require heavy physical labor. The ability to work under adverse conditions such as extreme climates, and exposure to heat, temperature extremes, noise, chemicals, and fumes is required. Must be available for overtime and weekend works. Must have experience with general hand tools and measurement instruments. Familiarity with mechanical assemblies and machinery is desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
