Reads/interprets schematics, printouts and specifications as needed to complete tests to determine the functionality of function area. Ensures testing instruments are calibrated and verified on a regular basis. Participates with the debugging and troubleshooting of new and existing procedures, equipment, products etc. Creates new test programs/procedures as needed for new technology.
Education and Experience Required:
Typically an Associate's degree or equivalent experience and 4-6 years of experience.
May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non- degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.
Knowledge and Skills:
Basic knowledge of the selected field.
Works with customers in planning and implementing tests by serving as a process/technical consultant. Assists in determining cause of EMC-related Product Safety and environmental failures by analyzing results, documenting processes and providing conclusion with proposed course of action to customer.
Utilizes corporate standards, department supplemental test procedures and customer test plans to test and evaluate product performance to ensure conformance under environmental requirements of corporate or national and/or international specifications. Collects all necessary data during test (i.e., failure modes observed, test setup photographs, block diagrams, model/serial numbers, etc.) to ensure test repeatability/reproducibility. Summarizes test data and generates test records in format determined by test record boilerplates.
Works with the test area process engineer to establish guidelines/procedures or follows guidelines/procedures to perform and document preventative maintenance on test equipment.
Works with management and test area process engineers on new project development and/or enhancements to existing processes (i.e., software enhancements, fixture construction, procedure updates, etc.)
