Main Objective:

The Associate, Strategic Planning, will work directly with the Director, Strategic Planning and Projects and other team members to develop, communicate and track the implementation of the overall strategic initiatives and projects, spanning topics in portfolio management, M&A planning and integration, and business operations and optimization.  Translating strategic objectives into an actionable strategic plan and corporate performance management program is a core function of this position. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the auspices of the Director, Strategic Planning and Projects, will act as an internal consultant, leveraging strategic and business acumen to challenge and influence throughout the development of business cases and strategic plans.

  • Provides key input into the analysis of strategic opportunities (including M&A, partnership, and other strategic initiatives) in collaboration with colleagues across the Strategic Development department to support analysis, frame business objectives and define performance metrics.

  • Consistent with articulated strategies, collaborate with cross-functional partners to prepare realistic project plans, advance and monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and risk mitigation strategies, and prepare and deliver progress reports to stakeholders and management.  In connection with such activities and under the direction of the Director, Strategic Planning and Projects, resolve conflicts, delays, and risks by overseeing the escalation and resolution process.

  • Propose process designs, templates and tools to ensure the delivery of clearly articulated objectives, business strategies and consistent outcomes across the company.

  • Develop and implement key performance measures for project prioritization, tracking and evaluation.

  • Support communications of the strategic plan throughout the organization to enable appropriate engagement with stakeholders.

  • Assess organizational and operational capability gaps within and across disciplines and determine way forward recommendations.

  • This position is based in Naples, Florida and will require domestic and international travel up to 10%.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • MBA, MHA or other advanced degree in a relevant discipline strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ total experience in corporate strategic planning/ corporate strategy, corporate development, management consulting, finance or related fields required.  Previous management consulting experience is preferred.

  • Project management experience required. Project management certification will be valued.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams without direct authority is highly preferred.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Thorough knowledge of strategic planning concepts, frameworks and best practices.  Demonstrated ability to complete qualitative and quantitative analysis and financial models.  Demonstrated ability to conduct and/or analyze research related to industries, consumers and competitors.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.

Ability to drive rigorous, well-communicated deliverables.

Attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Creative thinker with a bias for action.

Good team player, able to build trust relationships within cross-functional teams.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

High command of Excel and PowerPoint is necessary.  Knowledge of Microsoft Project or other project management tools is a plus.  Command of additional communications equipment / applications as needed.
