As the Environmental Compliance Manager, you will manage XPO's Supply Chain environmental compliance requirements, including developing, implementing and managing all environmental compliance programs and initiatives for the organization. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Provide technical support and leadership for the environmental compliance program related to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Federal Insecticide Fungicide Rodenticide Act, Process Safety Management, Emergency Response Planning, and Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act

  • Oversee preparation and submission of environmental reports to federal, state and local agencies

  • Develop and update environmental training modules, policies, procedures and job aids

  • Conduct environmental training via webinar and track site training status

  • Monitor state and federal regulations for upcoming changes

  • Review and comment on site-developed environmental compliance work instructions

  • Coordinate external audits with a consultant

  • Conduct site visits and audits, educate site leaders on environmental compliance requirements and implement corrective actions in a timely manner

  • Provide coaching and training to site leaders as necessary to achieve a high awareness and understanding of program requirements; ensure content and frequency of training is appropriate

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 4 years of experience implementing environmental compliance programs

  • Expert knowledge in the Clean Air Act and some knowledge in Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (Tier I, Tier II and TRI 313), Process Safety Management, Clean Water Act (Stormwater), Solid and Hazardous Waste, and Federal Insecticide Fungicide Rodenticide Act

  • Ability to review environmental regulations, provide interpretation and translate into actionable terms through policies, procedures, training and plans

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field

  • 4 years of managerial experience in an environmental role
