The Infrastructure Engineering Advisor is responsible for creating strategic designs and act as a technical lead for multiple systems within the infrastructure.  Help ensure adherence to ESI's architectural design policies.  Assist as a technical lead for complex infrastructure projects.  Reviews design solutions, system architecture and implementation details for customized, complex infrastructure solutions in a multi-platform distributed environment. Consults with IT applications, Database, and architecture to evaluate complex user requests and clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified systems. Monitor ongoing performance of systems and recommend updates or modifications according to business needs.

Responsibilities


  • Evaluate and contribute to high-level system architecture solutions for complex projects in a multi-platform distributed environment.

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a strategic plan for the infrastructure area, and ensure adherence to plan for all midrange infrastructure efforts.

  • Help to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with the current system, and system capabilities.

  • Work on special projects as assigned.

  • Provide technical direction for cross-functional design and development teams.  May take ownership or act as a technical lead for system and application design projects and direct the work of other team members.

  • Ensures adherence to enterprise architecture standards and recommendations for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the system.

  • Provides training and development of department staff. 

  • Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. 

Qualifications


  • High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years in a z/OS MQ Administrator Role

  • 5+ years in a Distributed Linux MQ Administrator Role

  • MQ SSL/TLS certificate experience

  • Knowledge of Linux, zLinux, z/OS UNIX System Services and z/OS MVS environments a plus 

  • Perform Installations, configurations and maintain various middleware software products, on-premises and in the cloud, including IBM MQ Server (Mainframe and Distributed Linux), Interscope Box, AWS cloud services and Avada IR360

  • Knowledge of MQ API’s as utilized by high-level programming languages (C, C++, JAVA, JMS, COBOL, etc.) 

  • Should be strong in Websphere MQ and JMS (queue manager and client)

  • JCL, Time Sharing Operation, CA7, Rabbit MQ experience a plus

  • Previous business analysis experience

  • Experience in multi-platform distributed environment

  • Experience working in an Agile Environment

  • Demonstrated ability to develop customized solutions to meet business requirements

  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions

  • Project management experience and proven ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple deadlines

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions

  • Strong customer service focus and Extremely detail-oriented

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful

  • Must be flexible to work a schedule to accommodate project deadlines and support any production issues which includes nights and weekends.
