The External Grain Marketing Advisor is part of a grain consulting team focused on helping our grain marketing service clients make better grain marketing decisions while adding value to Cargill’s core business. The External Grain Marketing Advisor is primarily accountable for acquiring new prospect clients as well as delivering the face to face elements of our grain marketing services and engaging with the broader Cargill Market Guide Team. By identifying opportunities with our clients and uncovering the client’s needs, the external advisor will proactively float new ideas and grain marketing strategies while providing education around possible solutions that can capture the market’s opportunities for our clients. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will work closely with their Internal Grain Marketing Advisor team member and provide secondary support for market updates, contract execution and individual client specific strategies. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will be part of the Regional team and will work closely with the Farm Marketers and Origination Specialists, where appropriate. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will fulfill the Cargill Leadership Expectations with their customer base as well as their employee teammates.
60% The External Grain Marketing Advisor will deliver comprehensive grain marketing services to our farm clients at the kitchen table. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will help customers market their grain through the execution of core product deliverables such as market reports and risk management tools as well as individual farm cash flow and contribution margin analysis. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will keep the customer’s Farm Marketer informed of services that are being provided and new sales opportunities that arise.
20% The External Grain Marketing Advisor, in coordination with the Farm Marketer, will sell Cargill Ag Marketing Services to farm customers in order to achieve revenue budgets and growth targets. A key enabler to achieving financial targets will be the External Grain Marketing Advisor working with the Farm Marketer and location teams to identify, prospect and close NEW Grain marketing Service clients.
20% The position will be required to work and communicate effectively with their Internal Grain Marketing Advisor team member. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will provide secondary support for market updates, contract execution and individual client strategies. The External Grain Marketing Advisor will also be part and work with the location team to help with grain related activities.
Excellent comprehension of Cargill’s Risk Management Tools (Internal only)
Minimum 3 years of experience working inside the Grain and Futures Industry
Minimum 3 years of business to business sales experience.
Related Post-secondary education or training.
Excellent organizational skills
Strong computer skills and attention to detail to create and maintain spreadsheets, databases and presentations.
