POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Sr. Medical Director of Care Innovation and Technology Integration, the Care Innovation Strategist, Principle, is responsible for driving assigned technology-based care innovation efforts in support of the Healthcare and Community Health Transformation goals.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Oversee assigned technology-based initiatives, including virtual care,

* Assist in defining care innovation project/pilot scope and objectives,

* Develop and manage plans to build out and test the solution, manage the process, testing and learning from POC to pilot.

* Partner with and participate in cross-functional business planning efforts to support broader Blue Shield of California and transformation strategies.

* Develop capabilities with internal and external partners and develop improvement road maps tied to mutual objectives, including virtual care.

* May be responsible for assigning and monitoring work of team members and providing guidance and leadership for other multidisciplinary efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelors degree required

* MPH required

* MBA preferred

* Minimum of 8 years of experience in a health plan or related setting

* Technically proficient background, including an ability to leverage data and advanced analytics, data modeling, and risk stratification

* Application of visualization and data tools (e.g. Tableau, Mede-Analytics) in a provider and health plan setting

* Experience in managing forward thinking care initiatives related to member and provider experience, as well as workflows

* Strong understanding of current market trends in healthcare, including macro and micro tailwinds

* Knowledge of Blue Shield of CA or similar health care organization structure

* Management experience of care coordination, care management, or best organizational practice programs and initiatives

* Ability to drive care innovation initiatives related to health information exchanges, community health platforms, and a comprehensive integrated platform

* Ability analyze, integrate and lead multiple complex workflows and systems as it pertains to data, data exchange, and technology platforms

* Ability to identify, apply and execute on use cases related to virtual care, care coordination, triage, AI/ML, and SDOH

* Ability to develop strategy, roadmaps, proof of concepts, transition to workable pilots, and develop and measure success criteria tracking to overall HCHT vision and goals

* Ability to develop elegant business cases ensuring projects/programs are in line with Blue Shield of California strategic goals

* Ability to consult with all levels including senior management, make recommendations, and influence decision-making

* Proven ability to determine key business issues, develop effective action plans and implement to successful conclusion.

* Team player with an ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders

* Ability to communicate difficult concepts in a concise, elegant and effective form to management and cross functional departments and develop consensus

* Superb communication skills, including oral and written presentation

* This position may require statewide travel to Northern and Southern California locations.
