The Supplier Quality Engineer primary responsibilities is to lead containment and corrective action of supplier Quality Issues. Secondary Role is to prepare plans and executes activities pertaining to the evaluation and disposition of products received from suppliers.


May include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Hold lead role in containment of Supplier Quality Issues
  • Act as liaison between Engineering and the supplier, Developing Key relationships beneficial to the company's success.
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers at address Problems with Materials received.
  • Recommend, when needed, Modifications to existing Quality or Production standards to optimum Quality within limits of equipment capability
  • Develop and improve on existing quality training programs for inspectors
  • Lead and/or participate in internal product, special process and supplier audits.
  • Set up parts on surface plates, Make a variety of gauge setups
  • Understand and use of basic statistical techniques and quality principles
  • Perform and document dimensional and visual inspections as instructed.
  • Read mechanical/electrical drawings and inspection instructions to determine specifications.
  • Utilize standard mechanical and electrical metrology tools, instruments, functional gauges and test rigs.
  • Being familiar with geometric tolerance measurements.
  • Support reduction of cost through identification of systemic defects and variability, root cause analysis,
  • Document control plans and standardized operating procedures for inspection.
  • Participate in team-oriented new product launch efforts, including extensive customer interaction.
  • Reviewing and interpreting customer and quality standards.
  • Calibration of tools and equipment
  • Inspection equipment costs and understand how to reduce shop expenses.

· Associates degree in Quality, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a technical related EXPERIENCE:
· A minimum of 3 years' experience as quality technician preferred
· Six Sigma Certification is preferred

  • PPAP
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Measurement System Analyses (Gage R & R)
  • Gage track

  • Travel as required (50%-75%)
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule
  • Knowledge of audit methodologies. (process audits, special process audits, Walk the control plan, product Audits)
  • Continuous mental and visual attention to detail required.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player and have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to represent our company in a professional manner
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Involves frequent exposure to cold and hot temperatures, humidity, dust, vapors, fumes, vibration and other loud noises from the plant. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
