Draper is conducting a nation-wide search for a highly innovative individual to lead our Computational Sensor Systems Group. The successful candidate will lead an organization tasked with exciting development efforts for one-of-a-kind applications. Responsibilities will include business area development, proposal generation and technical project management, in addition to basic group leader functions including hiring and staff development. Group activities range from analysis of novel technologies and systems, to technology development, system concept definition and design, system engineering, build and integration management, as well as characterization and test.


Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent. 10+ years of experience, as well as general expertise in prototyping complex sensor systems, is desired. The candidate s background should include instances of technical leadership and design responsibility in R&D activities in sensor system hardware and computationally intensive detection & sensing modalities. In addition, the candidate should be prepared to contribute to the implementation of machine learning techniques to sensors and other applications. Finally, the candidate should be a recognized expert in his own specific field with demonstrated strength in business development. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be willing to travel.
