Business Analysis Manager, Oracle EPM

This position acts as a critical liaison between the company’s financial functions including: Global Accounting functions, Consolidations Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Business Assurance and the company’s IT organization. The role will report into the FP&A team, but is responsible for maintaining the Oracle Planning, Budgeting Cloud Services application from a functional side.


  • Provides first line support to users of Oracle Planning, Budgeting Cloud Services system including:

  • Responding to helpdesk queries

  • Providing one-on-one support, explanations, and guidance to users regarding finance operations

  • Triaging data issues, process issues, and user errors prior to advancing to IT

  • Performs review of financial systems' maintenance (e.g. Security Groups, Metadata changes, alternate reporting hierarchies, Chart of Account, Dimensions, Members etc.)

  • Liaise with IT and business users to define and prioritize business related issues associated with systems

  • Coordinate with IT to plan for periodic IT improvement releases

  • For planned enhancements take the lead role in:

  • Assisting with developing the business case

  • Planning and monitoring

  • Requirements management and communication

  • Requirements analysis

  • Translating and simplifying requirements

  • Coordinating User Acceptance Testing UAT

  • Use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and lead a project’s scope, acceptance, installation and deployment.

  • Works closely with the IT teams to deliver enhancements on the deployed Production System

  • Deliver training to various financial users on key systems such as Oracle Planning, Budgeting Cloud Services (Hyperion)

  • Maintain and set-up globally consistent standard reports, and provide ad-hoc reporting guidance

  • Use broad understanding of business and systems to identify possible business issues related to system designs, and evaluate enhancement requests from users

  • Partner with other system owners to ensure data quality, timing, and financial reporting impacts are fully understood

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing for new system or enhancement releases. This involves assistance with creation of test cases and follow-up to ensure users complete testing per the schedule.

  • Liaise with FPA and Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) team to optimize planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.


  • Expert knowledge in SmartView

  • 10+ years of experience working within the finance and accounting organization of a Fortune 1000 company

  • 7-10+ years of experience with Oracle EPM, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) preferred

  • 3+ years Project Management Experience with Software or IT projects preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or related field required.

  • Familiarity of ERP and GL concepts (Oracle EBS, R12 or Oracle Cloud Fusion)

  • Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Detail-focused with high degree of data accuracy and integrity

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Expert knowledge Excel and MS Office Applications

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle DB)

Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred:

  • Finance close and consolidation

  • Streamlining reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to understand and assimilate new ideas and manage change

Experience in the following areas is desired:

  • Change Management Certification

  • PMP®, CAPM® Certification
